The great Banusi opens up the casket
The fearless Ausir jumps right in
The merry crowd no longer makes a racket
As Banusi reaches for his hatchet.

Banusi chops, and hacks, he's dancing
Cutting Ausir up with famished blows
His eyes are open wide, he’s grinning
While the hatchet`s merrily spinning

The deed is done and flesh adorns the casket
Ausir`s limbs, Banusi`s wrapping
In sheets of linen which are most exquisite
As befits the silent one from Khertet

Oh, grant thou unto me my mouth so I may speak herewith

Now, Ausir rises from the casket laughing,
Bloody sheets of linen almost snapping,
The merry crowd – they’re drunk with hope and clapping
